Between Flexibility, Teamwork, and Personal Growth
Bettina’s Versatile Career Path
Bettina completed her education at the HBLA in Steyr, graduating with her Matura. She then gained her first professional experience working in production at BMW. However, Bettina always had the desire to grow and develop further, leading her to pursue a part-time degree in Process Management and Health at FH Steyr.
This study program opened new doors for her: after a parental leave, she joined weba as an assistant to the operations management and soon took over quality management. During this time, she was involved in numerous internal projects, including working in internal sales. It was here that she discovered her passion for cross-departmental collaboration and customer relations.
This experience eventually led her to commercial project handling —a field that not only pushes her beyond her comfort zone but also allows her to continuously expand her skills and expertise. Bettina finds the direct contact with international customers particularly exciting and dynamic. Each client brings unique topics and processes, often leading to unforeseen challenges that require creative problem-solving. This variety ensures that her work never becomes monotonous and always remains engaging.
Work-Life Balance as the Key to Personal Strength
For Bettina, a well-balanced work-life routine is not a luxury but a necessary foundation for staying productive and fulfilled—both professionally and personally. Thanks to weba’s flexible work models, she can seamlessly integrate her professional and personal priorities. In her free time, she enjoys staying active—whether it's hiking, climbing, or playing volleyball, movement is her perfect way to unwind and recharge.
„I have the freedom to adjust my hours as needed – and that gives me the flexibility to balance both my job and personal life.“ Bettina Gmainer
But Bettina doesn’t just use her time for physical fitness—she also focuses on personal growth. Alongside her job, she has qualified as a mental coach to support people struggling with psychological challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic opened her eyes to how many individuals—especially teenagers and young adults—were struggling with mental health issues. As a mental coach, she aims to help them find their path to greater stability and inner strength.
"Mental health is essential to me because it impacts all other areas of life." Bettina Gmainer
Healthy nutrition also plays a central role in Bettina’s life. She loves cooking, follows a predominantly meat-free diet, and prefers natural products. Her secret to stress-free, healthy eating? A weekly shopping and meal plan, along with meal prepping. This way, she starts each day well-prepared and full of energy.
Bettina’s Advice to the Next Generation
Bettina wants to encourage young people to believe in themselves and not be discouraged by setbacks. She firmly believes that success often comes down to having the courage to challenge limiting beliefs and consciously leverage one’s strengths. Another piece of advice for young people: Make use of the tools available to you! During school, there are many opportunities to learn more about yourself and your talents—from aptitude tests to job shadowing days. These chances should be taken seriously, as they help in discovering the right career path. Bettina also emphasizes the importance of a solid educational or vocational foundation, as it serves as the basis for all future development. However, her advice isn’t just about education and career—she also advocates for a mindful life beyond digital distractions.
"Spend more time in real life than on social media." Bettina Gmainer
She shares this advice not only with young people in general but also with her own teenage children. For Bettina, building real connections with people and the world around us is essential—because only through genuine experiences can we grow and develop holistically. Her message is clear: Setbacks are a part of life, but they help us grow. She encourages the next generation to see challenges as opportunities, learn from them, and continuously strive for improvement.
"Life is a continuous learning process, and everyone can achieve more than they initially believe." Bettina Gmainer

To conclude, Bettina shares her favorite quote from Dale Carnegie, which has accompanied her on her journey: “Happiness doesn’t depend on who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think.” For Bettina, these words hold a deep truth: our thoughts and focus shape how we live our lives and the opportunities we recognize for ourselves.
